We say Hi!

“Griasti” and a warm welcome to our small, charming hotel – a family business now in its 4th generation, lovingly run by Christian, his wife Nadja, and the senior hosts Andreas and Sabine. And the 5th generation? She’s ready to join in: our little daughter Linda.

Over the past few years, we’ve changed quite a lot. For more than 10 years now, Hotel Unterlechner has embraced the adults only concept – not because we don’t like children. Quite the opposite – they inspire us. What we truly wanted was to create a place where being an adult feels as calm and carefree as childhood once did. A place to nourish your soul and put yourself first.

But first things first: feel truly and warmly welcome here with us! We’re looking forward to a colorful time together – and we’re already excited to meet you.

1/3 – From a B&B to a Gourmet Hideaway

A bold new beginning in 2014!

In 2014, we took a big leap and set a new course for the future of our hotel: no guests under the age of 14! A bold move – but for us, it marked a fresh start. It was a decision that came with consequences: around 40% of our loyal regulars, many of them families, understandably chose to say goodbye. A farewell that wasn’t easy, but one we knew was necessary to steer our hotel toward a future that matched our vision. Since joining the gourmet hotel association “Die Genießerhotels” in 2018, we’ve been able to refine our culinary focus and strengthen our identity step by step.

After a short breather, the next big step came in 2020 – along with the pandemic.

Corona forced us to pause and rethink everything. Truly everything: Our philosophy, what we have to offer, the way we work – nothing was left untouched.

It was time to reinvent our hotel:

  • A new culinary direction. With our à la carte breakfast until noon, a fresh bistro menu instead of the classic afternoon snack, the gourmet daily menu, and our fine dining restaurant Esskultur, we’ve created a culinary experience where flavor and service truly come first.
  • Only regional ingredients? Absolutely. We’ve switched to 100% seasonal and 99% regional produce – honest, sustainable, and top quality.
  • Buffets? A thing of the past. Instead, we serve your breakfast à la carte on beautiful tiered stands and bring salad bowls right to your table.
  • Less is more. Instead of 50 beds, we now offer just 40 – for more service, more quality, and a clearer focus on what really matters.
  • Our new Small Wellness area, with its private spa and our sacred rest day – “Viva la Sunday” – is our clear statement: Slow down. Consciously.

3/3 – From a B&B to a Gourmet Hideaway

This journey was anything but easy. But it was the right one.

Especially for our long-time guests, who had been with us for 10, 20, even 30 years, the changes were significant. But they were necessary. We didn’t just want to run a hotel – we wanted to create a place that reflects our vision of honest, intergenerational family tourism in Tyrol. No, we don’t have the most pools or the trendiest boho-style designer rooms. But what we do have is an authentic hotel – a place where we, together with our amazing team, work with genuine joy and passion.

The best part? This bold new path has opened new doors. Today, we’re proud to welcome not only new regular guests, but also new friends and families into our world. That makes us proud – and gives us the motivation to keep going. And speaking of “good feelings”: Yes, we are LGBTQ+ friendly – not because it’s trendy, but because it should be the most natural thing in the world.

We’re looking forward to the decades ahead – because the next generation is already waiting in the wings, ready (we hope!) to carry on our vision.

See you soon at your not-so-typical hotel in Austria!

With all our heart,

The Unterlechners – now in 5 generations: Anna – Elisabeth – Andreas & Sabine – Christian & Nadja – Linda ❤️
